The twin successes of ‘Paa’ and ‘Ishqiya’ have vaulted her stock f
urther in cinebiz. And Vidya Balan, expectedly, has hiked up her price.
Her asking fee for ‘ Golmaal2,’ reportedly, was a kool Rs. 1.5 crore, a remuneration commanded by Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif too, as per insiders.
Word has it that producer Ashok Thakeria and director Inder Kumar came up against a block, when VB opted out of the project since they were unwilling to pay her the price that she demanded for ‘Golmaal 2′.
A reliable source states, “Vidya left the film because both Inder Kumar and Ashok Thakeria failed to see the light of reason. She was not making an unreasonable demand. Despite discussions, they could not arrive at a consensus.”
A close pal of VB, though has a different tale to tell. As per her, Viddy opted out of ‘Golmaal 2′ since the role offered little in terms of meat. And although she was very keen to go in for a comic flick, this one didn’t really measure up in terms of role and lolly.
VB’s price and availability of dates will now decide who will be the beneficiary regarding Priyadarshan’s ‘Bullet Train’.
Reportedly, the toss up is between Kangna Ranaut and Viddy for a role in the fast paced flick centred around a train ride from London to Glasgow.
Producer Ratan Jain has made it amply clear that whichever of the two assents to a lower price will emerge the winner in the casting race for ‘Bullet Train’.
